Crime - the Barrister's Journey

Crime - the Barrister's Journey

A career in law is full of high comedy, usually of the unintended variety. One of the best slow burning entertainments in the business is to watch the transformation of your fellow law students (and yourself) from fight-for-justice radicals into fat cat silks and coporate partners.

We start off nobly representing the poor and needy, working for the Free Representation Unit or doing low-paid legal aid work, but in the end who wouldn't rather work for a fat corporate client or a wealthy Columbian drug lord?

Experienced criminal lawyers learn not to ask where the fees come from - and never, ever, go out for a drink with their clients.
