Getting Ahead

Getting ahead in a law firm is as much about politics as it is about your skills as a lawyer. You need to know what to kiss - and whose. And you need to go on a lot of training courses, run by the sort of nitwits who package up the glaringly obvious and package it into a 3-day course at a 4 star hotel. Fail to turn up to this sort of nonsense and you put your career in peril. But turn up, and you can't get your work done. A nice little catch-22 with no obvious solution that I have ever been able to idenitfy.
