What Do Partners Do All Day?
Actually, today's cartoon is probably a little unfair. Most partners at law firms work their bums off, just hard or even harder than associates. The big difference is that partners have to do a lot of glad-handling, attending client dinners, golf days, karaoke evenings, bowling, and worse.
On the other hand, they do it for the very good reason that client relationships are what it's all about. A good corporate or insurance client will spend thousands of legal fees every year, and keeps coming back for more. So it's worth a few golf weekends to keep them happy.
And you can leave your brainy associates to sort out the legal stuff.
