In Praise of Bystander

Sometimes you only find the good stuff when it's too late. The Magistrates' Blog, written by the anonymous "Bystander" - in reality a JP named Richard Bristow, is a fascinating daily account of life in the Magistrates Courts over the last decades. Mostly it details the gradual whittling away of public funding for the justice system, and the passing of pointless laws for political purposes. But what a shame to lose such a brilliant writer - Richard Bristow died in 2017.  You can find the Magistrate's Blog here.
